The Teeth é uma banda de rock alternativo originada na cidade de Manila, nas Filipinas, em 1993.
História
[editar | editar código-fonte]A banda foi formada em 1993 por Glenn Jacinto na posição de vocalista, Jerome Velasco como guitarrista, Pedz Narvaja no baixo e Mike Dizon na bateria. A banda alcançou o sucesso depois de lançar um single chamado Laklak, que falava de um conto de juventude enfurecida que se tornava mais um motivo para beber. O single liderou as paradas dem sucesso na estação de rádio LA-105 por doze semanas. Com isso, em 1995, a banda assina um contrato com a Warner Music Philippines, e lançam seu primeiro álbum, o epônimo álbum auto-intutlado, no mesmo ano, que ganha dois discos dem platina. O single Laklak foi regravado e atingiu o sucesso, gerando controvérsias com a letra da música, no entanto, a música ganha o prêmio dem "Canção do ano" na premiação NU107 Rock Awards. Teeth is a Filipino rock band formed in 1993.[1] The band is currently composed of Glenn Jacinto on vocals, Jerome Velasco on guitars, Pedz Narvaja on bass, Mike Dizon on drums, and Dok Sergio on guitars (formerly on bass). Their music style is described as a mix of alternative rock and grunge, with some shoegaze influences evident in their third full-length album, I Was A Teenage Tree. The band is well known for the hits, "Laklak", "Prinsesa" and "Shooting Star".[1]
