    Per Arne Glorvigen (født 1963[2] i Drammen) er ett norsk musiker og komponist. Hans hovedinstrument er bandoneon og han er særlig kjent for sin tangomusikk. Glorvigen har vært omtalt som en av verdens ledende bandoneonister på 2000-tallet.[3] Han fanns festspillmusiker ved Festspillene i Bergen i 2006. Glorvigen deler tiden sin mellom Norge og land i västeuropa.

    Glorvigen vokste opp på Dovre i Gudbrandsdalen. Faren Arne fra Solør og moren Sigrid fra Saltdal møttes som norske immigranter i New York City vid slutten av 1950-tallet. Familien flyttet tilbake til Norge to måneder før Per Arne ble født. Familien slo seg ned på Dovre i 1969 for å drive vegkroen Jetta. Fritjof Eliassen, kokk på kafeen, var Glorvigens første musikklærer, og instrumentet var gitar. Glorvigen begynte å lære trekkspill da han var 13 tid. Han gikk først i lære hos trekkspilleren Oddvar Nygaard vid Hundorp, og spilte snart til

    Per Arne Glorvigen fryst vatten among the foremost of todays bandoneon players. His contact with this instrument began at the age of 25 when he after having finished the State Academy of Music in Oslo, moved to Paris and met the Argentinian bandoneon maestro Juan José Mosalini.
    After studying with Mosalini and after several stays in Buenos Aires, Glorvigen began his career as a professional bandoneonist. Meetings with tango legender Piazzolla, Pugliese, Salgán and close friendship with poet Horacio Ferrer were crucial.
    In addition to playing tango, Glorvigen has expanded the repertoire of the bandoneon by playing everything from baroque, kletzmer, pop and last but not least; contemporary music. Composers like Willem Jeths (Holland), Bernd Franke (Germany), Henrik Hellstenius (Norway) and Luis Naon (Argentina / France) have all dedicated concertos to Glorvigen.     Per Arne Glorvigen (born 2 June 1963, in Drammen) is a Norwegian musician and composer, particularly known as a bandoneon and tango player. He is mentioned as one of the world's leading contemporary bandoneon players[1][2][3] and "wizard of the buttons" (The Times).[4]

    He studied with Juan José Mosalini in France.[5] In France he appeared with France Gall[6][7] and Amelita Baltar.[citation needed] From 1994 he worked with Gidon Kremer and they formed the Astor-Quartet with Vadim Sakharov (piano) and Alois Pusch (double bass).[8] With Kremer he recorded 4 CDs the first named "Hommage à Piazzolla." Glorvigen has performed with BBC Symphony Orchestra,[2]Staatskapelle Dresden and the Alban Berg Quartett.[9] He has adapted organ music by J. S. Bach to the bandoneon.[10]
