    Ellen was born as Ellen Rose Albertini on November 16, 1918 in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, USA. Ellen, in addition to appearing on Scrubs, has appeared in many other different TV series such as American Dad!, Cold Case, Hannah Montana, Yes, Dear, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, and My Name Is Earl along with several movies such as Wedding Crashers, Fat Girls, Lonely Street, Patch Adams, Not Another Not Another Movie, and The Invited. She was also a popular dance teacher for 30 years.

    Ellen's husband Eugene "Gene" Dow Jr. was a teacher (1957-1983) and the founder of the theater arts department at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California, in addition to being a director, writer, composer and decorated WWII hero.

    Ellen Rose Albertini Dow (November 16, 1913 – May 4, 2015) was an American film and television character actress and drama coach. She portrayed feisty old ladies and is best known as the rapping grandmother Rosie in The Wedding Singer (1998), performing "Rapper's Delight".
