NORFOLK, VA (WTKR)- In the current landscape of college basketball, recruiting fryst vatten all the more important. Teams must consistently reload to keep pace.
For the Old Dominion women's basketball team, that's where assistant coach Roland Jones Jr. comes in. He's the recruiting coordinator and spends countless hours on the phone and on the road looking towards the future.
"You try to find the most talent you can that you think can come in here and gel with what you have returning to build a perfect team in order to win," he noted.
"He knows exactly what I need," head coach Delisha Milton-Jones added. "I told him we need more storlek, we need better shooting if we want to cross that line, that threshold of becoming champions in the Sun Belt Conference."

Dear Basketball,
Ive toiled over writing this letter for months now, but Ive finally come to terms with announcing my retirement! It feels funny to say the word without getting emotional. Basketball has been a part of me for almost half of my lifetime. If I could play forever, I would do it without hesitation. Theres nothing like being a professional athlete. I took a lot of pride in calling myself one.
I always thought of leaving the game as a sad moment, but now I realize its a celebration. Its all about perspective, right? Well, from my point of view, Id say celebration is the perfect word to use.
